Nestled on the island's southeastern coast, this enchanting locale boasts a bridge whose story reaches back centuries. Dating back to the 18th century, this stone arch bridge was meticulously constructed to connect two halves of the island that were once separated by a tidal inlet. Its construction not only facilitated easier access between the areas of St. Sampson and Vale, but also became a symbol of unity, joining communities and fostering trade and social interactions. In exploring The Bridge area, I sought to document not only the people who call it home, but also the intricate textures and captivating landscapes that define its charm. The interplay of light and shadow dancing upon weathered walls, the lush greenery that frames the bridge, and the azure hues of the sea embracing its sturdy foundations—all these elements weave together to create an artistic symphony that beckons visitors to immerse themselves in the captivating essence of Guernsey.
